Naming Names...

Anyone who reads my blog or knows me personally knows that I am the first person to defend the Canes, whether it's Kyle Wright or the entire team during the FI..Who game or even Larry Choker(oooops I mean Coker),but after the GT game I'm ready to throw some blame and name some names:

1) Larry Choker: How have you managed to pretend for 6 seasons that you have a clue what you are doing as a D1 head coach???How many times during the GT game did you wait until the play clock was running out to get a play in to Kyle Wright??A screen pass, down 14 with under 4 minutes left in the game???How about an onside kick at the end!!!Make up your mind and call the play Larry!!!Terrible, that was one of the worst coached game I have ever seen in UM history(except for maybe the Louisville game or maybe the Peach bowl or pretty much any game since VT last season). You're a nice guy Larry but nice guys finish last(which is where we'll end up if we don't get it together.Pack your bags Larry theres a plane headed back to Oklahoma waiting for you.

2:Kyle Wright:I just have three words for you Kyle:"THROW THE BALL".For the love of God trust your teamates, stop trying to be Michael Vick and get rid of the ball!!!
3:Randy Shannon:For some reason there seems to be some protective barrier keeping Randy from criticism, but I'm gonna do the unthinkable and call you out.Three plays in a row in the GT red zone the defense looked totally lost.Players don't know where they are supposed to be,It looks ridiculous!!
4:Offensive Line:The quarterback can't make a play if he has no time. It' time to Man Up!!
5:Lance Leggett:Please convince me that you weren't shaving points!A fumble in the red zone and then on that long pass late in the game you didn't even put your arms out(Have some dignity)
6:Javarris James:You're the man!!!
This team has played with no intensity,no swagger,no urgency and NO HEART all season long.So whats it gonna be Canes we're not going to play for the national title or the ACC title or even a BCS birth, are we gonna pack it in like the Peach Bowl last year or are we gonna show some pride and beat the Chokies Saturday??I leave it up to U!!!

Big Game?? An understatement!!

As a Hurricanes fan the week between games usually seems to drag on for what seems like an eternity, however the week between the debacle at Duke and the clash with GT seems to be passing at an accelerated rate of speed. As I begin to pack my tailgate gear for my trip to Atlanta I can't help but be equally nervous and excited about this showdown with the Yellow Jackets. Tell me something Hurricanes fans when was the last time a game meant this much to our program??? The last time I remember a single game meaning this much was the 2001 national title game. This game is about more than a win or a loss, this game is about pride and respect!! This is the game that everyone will be watching, watching to see if the Canes will crumble or if they will evoke the spirit of theU. This game is for Michael Irvin,Steve Walsh,Edgerrin James and Ed Reed, guys who paved the road for the legacy of the U. This is for the fans(the true fans) who believe in you even when you let us down. This game is for the critics who mock and kick us when we're down. This game is for the players who have failed to play up to UM standards. This game is a chance for Ryan Moore to prove he isn't a bust, this game is a chance for Kyle Wright to become a Miami Hurricane, this game is a chance for the defensive secondary to live up to the preseason hype, this game is a chance for Baby J to become a star, but most importantly this game is a chance hold up our fist defiantly in the face of the college football universe and make them remember the Hurricanes!!! There are those who say that I am overreacting, but as far as I'm concerned Saturday Oct.28 in Atlanta, Georgia play in the most important game in recent history. Please don't let us down!!

The enemy within!!

Ok so I'm not the one to use alot of played out phrases(moral victory, playing with heart etc....)to describe a Hurricanes football game, however watching an almost monumental collapse one such phrase comes to mind "Shooting yourself in the foot". I was there in Durham on Saturday watching with shear horror as Duke came within six yards of pulling a Buster Douglas type upset of the Canes. Let's state the obvious the suspensions hurt bad, eapecially on the offensive side of the ball(namely the run game),but from my viewpoint that was not the problem saturday. From where I was sitting the real opponent wasn't the Duke Blue Devils (no disrespect to a team that played tough and took us the distance), No the Miami Hurricanes toughest opponent Saturday was the Miami Hurricanes!!!! False starts, personal fouls, unsportsmanlike conduct, late hits, turnovers basically an overall lack of discipline on the field. The same lack of discipline that cost us the FS..Who game, the same lack of discipline that prevented us from putting our foot on Louisville's throat early in that game(watch the tape!!!) and the same lack of discipline that has caused us to struggle with the likes of Houston and Duke. Cane fans "the enemy is not on the field ,the enemy is within!!" We have the weapons,we have the attitude and we have the hunger to beat GT Saturday, but my question is do we have the composure and discipline??? I only hope that I can return home from Atlanta this weekend with something I've been missing all season "A Reason To Believe."

Get off the wagon!!!

First of all I'm a reasonably calm person, I don't despise many people, but there are one group of people I truly hate "Bandwagon Hurricane Fans". You know who you are!!!The guy that was wearing the UM hat in 2001 and this year you're sporting the Ohio State Suckeyes hat.Typical!!
Yeah you the 11-0 fans, the national champion fans, the it's cool to be a Hurricane this year fans. You make me sick to my stomach with all your front running ways. The fans
who were nowhere to be found in 1997 when we were 5-6 yet suddenly reappeared in 2000 when we were 10-1. I'm talking to the fans who gloated when we crushed VT 27-7 last season and then mocked us as we lost 40-3 in the peach bowl two months later. Where oh where are the true Cane fans??? Can someone tell me why we can't sell 30,000 tickets to an afternoon game in the OB???? Me personally I live thousands of miles away so I go when I can(FSU and VT this year), but I guarantee you'll see me at ALL the road games(Just look for the green and orange wig and hockey mask). I'm talking to the Canes in Miami who have a chance to see all the games and don't show. It's looks terrible that the greatest football team in the universe can't sell out a saturday afternoon game. Once again I ask the question where are the true Canes???
I'm pissed off when I see 80'000 show up for FSU(the IN game) and 20'000 show up for UNC(who are we Miami(OH)???) In closing to all you fake Hurricane fans, A little message from Cane Nation: If you are not in it for the long haul, if you can't stick out the peaks and valley's, and if you can't raise your head with pride and say "It's GREAT to be a Miami Hurricane" after a 40-3 peach bowl or 31-7 trip to Louisville, "Get the hell off our wagon and get off to stay"

sincerely

All about the U!!!

I have Two issues to address today Cane Nation:1)To all the radio and talk show hosts who are claiming that Hurricanes fans want to have their cake and eat it to,you are missing the point. These misinformed individuals say that we have an us against the world mentality but at the same time want the media to like us.They say we are whining aboutthem bashing us.To those individuals let me educate you.First of all we dont care about your opinions or personal feelings toward us.In the words of Kellen Winslow II "We dont care about nothing but this U",but make no mistake about it just like FI..who learned we arent gonna let anyone disrespect us.So go on and talk your trash, but dont be surprised when Cane Nation(Im talking about true Cane Nation not the band wagon riders who only support us when we are on top)lashes out with a fury.2)To all the big corporate suit and tie universities with your leave it to beaver type mentality.Instead of trashing us we wish you would just say thank you.Hey USC,Notre Dame,Ohio ST etc..Whether you admit it or not you need UM so you can point your self righteous fingers and say "There's the bad guy!" You need us to be the bad guy so the sins of your program never see the light(see Maurice Clarett(OSU)Regie Bush(USC).Dont worry you dont need to say thank you we'll say your welcome anyway. In closing yeah it pisses us off when you call us a joke, but all we do is go look in our trophy case and watch Hurricanes dominate the NFL from coat to coast(see Devin Hester's game winning touchdown run Monday night)and we catch amnesia.Caneiac1P.S. Look out ACC the sleeping giant is very much awake!!!

We dont need your respect!!!!

First of all what was FIU doing in our orange bowl in the first place??I mean bad year or not these UM wannabees dont even deserve to be on the same field as my beloved Hurricanes. We agreed to play these phonies and help them get some national exposure and what do they do come into our home and dissrespect us!!!Let me shed some light on the situation FIU instagated this fight from the beginning of the game when they ran into a crowd of Canes and bumped into them for no reason. The incidents continued throughout the first half when they repeatedly were throwing late hits on Javarris James and Kyle wright. After every play the FIU players were running their mouths and pushing our linemen. The emotions finally exploded when two of the FIU players(and I use that term lightly) assaulted our holder after a PAT(I mean really what kind of pansy assaults a holder?)In short I feel that FIU got exactly what they deserve. And to all the sport casters running your mouths SHUT UP!!!Mark May is a has-been from a has-been university,Lee Corso couldn't pick a winner in a one man race and Lou Holtz is almost as bad of a broadcaster as he was a coach. In closing let just say this:"Hey America, We dont need your respect or your praises, go on hating us it fuels our fire. You fear what you dont understand and thats why no matter what our record you will still be terrified of the U!!!
