Get Real Marshall Fans!!!

I'm sure for most Cane fans out there you are looking at our season opener and saying "who the hell is Marshall?" Well normaly I would be one of those people however the fact that I live half an hour from the Marshall campus gives me a little bit more knowlege about this foe than most. First of all Marshall is a program that enjoyed a lot of success in D-II and then went on to dominate the M.A.C conference. As of late however the Thundering Herd has pretty much fallen into oblivion. Now living in WV you get to deal with all the highly delusional WVU Mountaineer faithful and all of their bullshit and usually I find the Marshall fans to be a welcome ally, but at least until September 2nd all of that has changed. My friend have become my foes!! It's one thing that we play each other but now I'm hearing the trash talk start up. I wasn't going to run my mouth, but they actually think they are going to come into the OB and beat us. Come on now Herd fans "Know your role"!!! Yeah you were great in D-II and you went through alot with the plane crash (see We are Marshall) but come on. I'll give them this they aren't afraid to play the big boys ( Tennesee, VT, WVU and Miami) the only problem is they get crushed by all of them. So while they are not lacking in heart maybe the A.D is lacking in brains when he creates these impossible schedules. It really pains me to be so hard on the Herd but come on I can't let you live in a fantasy world where you can actually beat the Canes. It wouldn't be right. For now my advice is simple " You got balls for playing the U and I got respect for you but be content knowing that you took on the challenge, don't go overboard and think you are in our league. " We might be down but i promise you we are a dangerous team, like a wounded animal that becomes more ferocious than ever before. In closing Marshall fans I admire your courage, I wish you well in your conference and I would sell my soul to the devil to see you beat WVU, but facts are facts when you come into the OB on September 1st we are gonna beat that ass so bad you just might need a hearse. Now put that shit in your pipe and smoke it!!!!GO CANES!!!

A few updates!!!

After a little bit of a layoff The Caneiac has returned to share some thoughts on the last few weeks in Cane Nation:

1) First of all how sweet was it that the first two scores of the Super Bowl were contributed by members of the U family. Devin Hester served notice on the world this year that he is on another level. When he left Miami early I didn't think he was ready for the NFL but boy was I WRONG!!! This kid is the real deal and he'll be giving coverage teams fits for a long time. Not to be outdone Reggie Wayne strolls into the endzone with no one within 20 yards of him. I swear I felt like a proud father!!
2) Coach Shannon absolutely kicked ass in the recruiting game, snagging up the 16th best recruiting class in the country in only about a month on the job. This guy is amazing and word is he is making his presence known and letting the players know that there is a new sheriff in town. While everyone else drools over Robert Marve I personally am more excited about is running back Graig Cooper who is more like the prototypical UM back than anyone since Willis Mcgahee. I think this kid is gonna be special, however baby J is still no joke!!
I have to admit as I looked at the 2007 schedule I was a little worried with a lot of possible trap games in there but I am starting to buy into Coach Shannon's we don't care about last year, we don't care what people think, were gonna go to Norman, Blacksburg, talahassee and anywhere else and beat somebody's ass mentality. The players are buying in and I wouldn't be surprised if we jump right back into the National Title chase next year. You can call me crazy if you want but if Coach Shannon believes this team can do it then so do I!! I wear I'm about to explode already. I am so excited about 2007 and seeing if Randy Shannon backs up what he says. I have a great feeling about this team, this coaching staff and this U next year. Buckle up your seatbelts because I think Coach Shannon is gonna give us an interesting ride in "07. Just my thought, if you don't like go log onto an FSU blog. GO CANES!!!!
